Consumer Protection Act & Regulations Implementation Workshop hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry
Consumer protection is a matter of good business ethics and consumer rights.
The Consumer Protection Act (68 of 2008) was signed into law by the President of the Republic of South Africa on 24 April 2009. The Department of Trade and Industry (“the dti”) has released the proposed Consumer Protection Act regulations for public comment in the Government Gazette (No. 33818). Before making any regulations, the Act requires the Minister to publish the regulations for public comment. After the public comment stage, final regulations will be issued in the government gazette.
